Hairstylist for film and host of The Last Looks Podcast

Hi,

My name is Jaime Leigh, I am a Hair Designer working in the film industry, originally from New Zealand now living in Long Beach California. With just over 25 years experience, my passion for storytelling through hair has led me to collaborate with industry stars such as Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Ana de Armas and Timothée Chalamet and contribute to the visual narrative of numerous acclaimed film projects, such as Don’t Worry Darling, Blonde, Oppenheimer and Babylon. I bring a wealth of knowledge and firsthand insights and I would love to share perspectives on the evolving landscape of hair and makeup in the film industry to your audience.

I am also what I like to call the hobby host of The Last Looks Podcast, a show dedicated to exploring the world of Hair and Makeup in the global film and TV industry. Each episode of the podcast features an in-depth interview with a renowned Hair and/or Makeup professional, they share their experiences, expertise, and behind-the-scenes stories from iconic film productions. From Hollywood blockbusters to independent films, we chat about whats behind the captivating looks that grace the silver screen.

With my background as a film hairstylist, I've had the privilege of working on numerous projects, each with its own set of challenges and creative opportunities. From period pieces to contemporary dramas, I've honed my craft and gained valuable insights into the intricacies of bringing characters to life through their hairstyles. Hosting the podcast has allowed me to delve even deeper into the world of film and television, providing a platform to discuss not only hairstyling techniques but also broader industry trends, behind-the-scenes stories, and advice for aspiring professionals.

What I have realised is, there is a real hunger from artists working in this industry to continue to educate themselves, they feel the disconnect between what they do and what artists in the salon are doing, they have a real passion for trying to stay on top of the latest trends and techniques. In saying all of that, I feel it may be interesting and beneficial for each of our audiences to hear from the other host, Your audience may be intrigued to know more about what the film world is all about when it comes to hairstyling and my audience would love to know more about how to stay on top of their hairstyling game. I would love to help bridge the gap and bring our communities closer together.

I look forward to hearing from you,
